- Late 1990s
In late 1990s, the Hong Kong Airport Authority put forward a proposal for a flagship logistics development on the Hong Kong airport island. Invitations for tenders were sent out in 1999.
- 2000
In November 2000, the Tradeport consortium, comprising of local and international shareholders, was awarded the tender on the strength of the business model and the investors’ commitment to the development of high-end logistics service segment in Hong Kong.
- 2001
In February 2001, the Tradeport consortium signed the formal agreement with Hong Kong Airport Authority. Construction of the Tradeport Logistics Centre on the Hong Kong International Airport commenced in July 2001.
- 2003
In March 2003, the construction of the Tradeport Logistics Centre was completed. In May 2003, Tradeport commenced operations and since then, we have successfully built up a portfolio of reputable international customers in its target sectors.
